Cobie has signed on for two new film roles, according to Variety. The first is called Safe Haven, directed by Lasse Hallstrom and starring Josh Duhamel and Julianne Hough. The story follows a young woman whose arrival in a small North Carolina town prompts its tight-knit community to question her mysterious past. Smulders will play a neighbor. “Safe Haven” is based on the novel of the same name by Nicholas Sparks. The second film is called They Came Together, starring the lovable Paul Rudd and helmed by Role Models director David Wain. This appears to be a bit of a bigger role for Smulders, as she will play Rudd’s girlfriend. Assuming the film is a comedy, this will hopefully allow Smulders to bust out the comic chops we regularly see on CBS’, How I Met Your Mother. No word yet on when these films are set to arrive, but Smulders fans can at least rest easy knowing their girl has more work on the horizon. (Source) |
